Alupia Species Information

Found in the Sky Islands in the Ascension World, the Alupia is an elusive species.

Each Alupia is of an unique element. That is, no two Light Alupia may exist at any given time. Though Half Breeds can co-exist (IE: more than one half-element Alupia can exist together, but will have different markings).


Growth and Breeding
Alupia reach breeding maturity at Adult Stage, but at Ascendant stage they can reproduce by live birth or egg (IE: They can produce a Hatchling without waiting for the Egg to hatch). It can take an Alupia one extra week to evolve per stage.

Egg - Hatchling: 3 days from purchase
Hatchling - Child: 1 week from Hatchling
Child - Adult: 3 weeks from Child
Adult - Ascendant: Special Requirement

Each breeding pair of Alupia only produce one egg in their lifetime unless fed an Alupia Berry matching their breeding partner's element, even then, the chance of an egg being laid is fairly reduced. However, Ascendant pairs can breed easily. Adults can also breed with Ascendants, though sometimes this causes a mutation and an entirely different species can be produced.


Diet
Alupia are exclusively herbivorous, except for the Shadow and Blood Alupia which subsist on the soul energy and blood respectively of other beasts. Light Alupia prefer petals and berries to other types of vegetation, and will on occasion drink nectar from flowers.


Personality
The eventual personality of any pet is largely dependent on its owner and its treatment during growth. However, the Light Alupia tends to be secretive and shy by habit, though once it warms up to someone it can be very loyal.


Battle Details
Rather fragile of build, the Light Alupia is not suited to close-combat. Instead, it relies on its innate speed and sharp calls to stun/surprise an enemy before sending out beams of psychic energy to blast enemies. Its wings can also generate light to blind and hurt Shadow/Dark type enemies. However, this tactic does not work against Metal or Rock type mobs.

Rare for Ascension Pets, Light Alupia can heal.


Some Battle Moves: [Eggs only have the 'Wobble' move].
Wobble - Egg only. Wobbles cutely, sometimes causes egg to roll. May do damage to enemy or egg.
Yelp - Sounds more like a short screech, can sometimes stun or deafen. Exhausts Hatchlings.
Song - Child+ Heals self with a lullaby. Sometimes causes enemies AND owners to fall asleep.
Light Wing - Wings light up prettily, can blind or distract enemies reliant on sight.
Kick - Kick close range enemies, can injure self if enemy is Hard.
Heal Halo - Heals self by quite a lot, can only use once per battle.
Throw Ring - Throws metal rings at the enemy, damage relies on accuracy/AGI.
Holy Smite - Ascendant form only. A flood of light damages all enemies while healing friends.


About Ascension Pets
There are generally five stages of evolution, from Egg to Ascendant.
Purchased pets begin at Egg form and should take the required time/RP to mature into the next stage.
Ascendant stage requires RP and/or Special Item purchase.
This stage does not appear here because the Ascendant can be human OR beast, and is effectively a custom character, the buyer can decide various things like type of wing (feather vs transparent etc), accessories, clothing type etc.
Note: Colouring and markings remain faithful to the original Egg.
