"Mmh."
Scale turned a page of his herbology book, and hummed to himself. He shifted his tongue as he felt the small movements of the creature trapped in his maw- Gently he licked over the creature, in a stroking-like series of motions. For the first time in over half an hour, the dragon began to open his mouth, slowly, stopping when it was wide enough for the creature within to slip out. Scale felt the tiny thing begin to move on the back of his tongue, crawling its way to the exit, out of the dark, warm and wet place. The creature's movements became quicker the closer it got to the front of his mouth- Once it was close enough that it might be able to wriggle out, Scale shut his mouth, and with his tongue, lifted the creature up to the roof of his mouth where it was given a brief massage by the dragon's tongue before the huge muscle lowered, and the dragon's mouth began to open up once more. Back where it was before, the little creature struggled again to reach the edge of Scale's maw. Crawling across the slimy, blue tongue, it slipped around some but surely progressed to the cave's exit inch by inch. This time, Scale allowed the creature to climb halfway out of his maw before acting. The dragon shut his lips around his captive's midsection, and allowed it one attempt to struggle free before effortlessly slurping the creature back into his maw, where he began to suck gently on it. Turning another page of his book, the gray dragon smiled.
Some time after that, the dragon decided it was time to let his small captive out. Opening his maw, Scale allowed the tiny creature to crawl its way out, and onto the surface of his awaiting palm. He licked his lips, and smiled down at the creature.
"Mmm, you're a tasty little one. Maybe next time I'll "forget" my promise not to swallow."

Scale is a friendly but shy gray dragon who comes from a small, unusual village at the bottom of an otherwise usual mountain. Unusual, because it is inhabited by a tribe of tiny dragons only a few inches tall with buildings made to match. Scale carries his tribe's treasure- a magical staff, that is able to steal size from people or objects, shrinking them, then transfer the stolen height to himself or others, or store it in the crystal. The amount of size and height that can be added to someone or something is limited only by how much the staff is currently holding. With the staff's magic Scale can reduce enemies to harmless sizes and grow his allies into towering behemoths, but without the staff's power, Scale's physical abilities and fire breath are... Lacking, so he mainly plays a support role in combat. The staff has many other uses, especially for stealth, as Scale can when needed, make himself as quiet as a mouse, and if required, even smaller than one. Scale disguises his natural, tiny size with the staff by keeping himself at a height slightly below that of the average dragon's, most of the time. Scale is also talented in the areas of persuasion and bartering, and is good at brewing potions of many kinds- Most of the time.
Scale is adventurous and always happy to visit new places, but because he spent most of his life in his home village, he is shy and normally prefers the company of other dragons and certain other species, however he is capable of friendships with people of all kinds- Being only suspicious of humans, and squirrels.

Squashing is mostly reserved for those who really deserve it :p
And resisting the size-changing magic is possible but super, super hard because of the staff's power source (it's a secret so far!) But the victim can still seek out other ways to get their natural size back if I don't feel like helping them ;3 such as potions, spells or natural changing abilities.
