Akhet's body is made of sand and dust magically bound to the remains of his skeleton, taking on the appearance of muscle, skin and fur. As such, it is prone to sloughing off when touched, hence his avoidance of contact. Water is also caustic to him, as it turns his flesh to mud. Each night, he must bury himself in the desert sand to replenish his body, although this does not cause him to sleep. Instead, he uses this time to project himself into the realm of the gods, by Set's side. He never truly rests. Being kept "alive" by Set's sorcery, he has an innate connection to his lord, hearing his commands from across the veil. As such, he can sometimes bargain for some of Set's great magical power, if the situation is dire enough, or if Set happens t be in a good mood that day. Most commonly these powers manifest themselves as silicon-kinesis (manipulation of sand and glass), aerokinesis (manipulation of wind, generally into lightning and dry storms), extended senses, and subtle emotion manipulation (limited to those which produce negative energy, i.e. rage, sorrow, fear)
Always seeking powerful warriors to take to the grave, he acts as a sort of advisor for a collected group of soul searchers who have taken to calling themselves Axis. In time around the fire at night, before burying himself to return to his master, he exchanges secrets of magic learned from Set with his fellow practitioners Lilith and Ravina (the latter of whom quite stirs his long-rusted sense of lust), and weathers Zerqet's attempts at verbal battle.
