I think it's more the fact that he making a big hoo-ha of it and in the process calling it "terrifying" and "decrepit". Not exactly encouraging descriptors.

I realize that we're seeing Jocelyn's profile in the last panel, but when I first glanced at it, it looked like one of those poorly drawn reaction faces you see all too often in various mangas. I nearly had a spit take when I saw it, it was so funny to me. :D
