Mahad is the assistant of Kavitha Thakur, the leader of the Kavithan Protectorate.
He spends most of his time assisting Kavitha with her duties and even assuming control of the Protectorate when Kavitha is out of duty.
Despite his charming and whimsical manor he is the militaristic mind behind the Kavithan Protectorate who wants peace with the neighbours but will not forget previous acts of war so easily.

Avory's Expedition Beyond Earth is based on Firaxis Games' Sid Meier's Civilization Beyond Earth.

I don't know what the planet would be Scientifically called as of yet (But as the Beyond Earth lore goes: It would be something Russian/Polish/Slavic along the lines of 'Kepler 186f' or 'Hawking 792b' ect)
On the other hand it has many nicknames: "The Promised Land", "New Earth", "Hope", "Atlantis" to name a few. There is no nickname for the planet at the start of the comic as no one would agree on it due to the diverse nature of each sponsor. (It's a bit like 'Earth'. 'Earth' is a nickname we give to this planet but in scientific terms it would be called something along the lines of 'MilkyWay d')
