This was actually a project for school, but I'm very happy with the result. I collaborated with  yousei_sama on this: I wrote the poem and did the detailing, while he did the fancy calligraphy.

When I scanned it, the paper was actually a tad bit too large (it's about a foot square), so the bottom ended up being cut off a bit.. but the most important parts are there. Also the scanner originally made it look super pink, so I took it into photoshop and tweaked the hue and saturation to make it look on screen how it does in person.

I actually have one more sheet of paper in the same color and size, so if anyone is interested I would love to take one commission like this - simple, artistic freedom with the detailing, some kind of critter (preferably something with big teeth) with a short poem of your choice making up the bulk of the face, in fancy calligraphy like this. I would also be willing to write the poem if you didn't have one in mind. $20 shipped.
