The Marcel Bloch 152 C.1 was a french fighter aeroplane built from 1937 to 1944. They were built either at Châteauroux or either at Mérignac by the SNCASO, the 152 was the most build of the 8 versions of this aircraft.
It was one of the main fighters of the Armée de l'Air at the beginning of the Battle of France in despite of its low maneuverability and of its low range but it was very strong and resist rather well to the damages, it was also the only fighter in the world to be equipped of two canons of 20mm in 1939.
This one has the markings of the 3ème Escadrille of the GC II/6, the SPA 26 "Cigogne de Saint-Galmier", this squadron used the MB-152 C.1 from the 18th May 1940 to the 10th August 1940. The Groupe was accredited of 17 victories for three pilots killed during the battle of France but all their victories were acquired in MS.406 or in D.520, entered in service on this squadron on 5 June 1940. This Groupe de Chasse was one of the few Groupes which received some Polish pilots who left their country for fight in France.
