Just to show that I have been doodling still, just not having finished anything to post. ^.^ Been working on figuring out feline muzzle and it's still bit of a pain though there were a few I did tonight. Mostly bleh but a couple passable.

Ooh, does this mean we get to see kitties from you!?
From looking at several photographs of big cats, it appears if you were to draw a line from the top middle of their forehead down to their nose, it would be close to straight. There is some variation by species and individual, and it may be slightly concave on some (and is actually convex, i.e. curved outward, on others) but is usually pretty close to straight. This is in contrast to a wolf or fox where there is a very pronounced indent just below the eyes where the muzzle begins. In this respect, of the sketches here it looks like the bottom two on the left and the bottom one on the right are closest.
Hope this helps.

Heeey there. Cool, thanks for the feedback and advice on them! And yeah hope to be able to draw felines a bit more often. The muzzles are obviously way different from what I'm normally used to. I'll try straighter lines for the guides though next time I practice them. :)
It's nice to see an artist I admire working to improve their abilities. I don't know how often I've seen a new work from an artist I've noticed and wondered why they've tagged the image with something like 'marmoset' or 'civet' or 'whooping crane' when in fact they've simply created a slightly off-model canine. Some folks seem to figure that coloration and a file name are all that's needed to depict any given species.
Ahem. *steps off the soapbox*
Sorry. Didn't mean to get carried away there. But I do want to commend you on working on something that is obviously difficult for the express purpose of improving your skills. That's one of the reasons I'll always keep my eye on you and your work.
And yes, 1st column 3rd row is absolutely adorable. I generally don't squee, it's not in my nature. But if I did, it would be for something like that.

Oh stop now, making me blush. :D Thanks! Though sadly my feline practice kinda ended there and don't really think much progress was made with it. I am finding it difficult getting different species to really LOOK like their species instead of just different colored off-model vulpines, like you said up top. Tricky though. :P :)
