A long overdue birthday picture for my good friend MJ Bear. Actually, the picture itself has little, if anything, to do with his birthday, but it was the inspiration for the picture and so it still counts, I think.
The drawing depicts lil' Kaffre and MJ going for a winter walk with their mommies when MJ fell through a snowbank and his feline buddy... overreacted. The main reason for the delay in getting this piece posted was my difficulty in drawing adults, but I think they actually turned out OK here mostly due to the bulky winter clothes which obscure an abundance of anatomical errors on my part. Likewise, the facial expressions, while nowhere near what I was going for, actually fit the finished drawing better than what I had intended.

I always enjoy seeing your traditional art, Kaffre. Your coloring is very nice while your character designs are genuinely your own.
Please forgive me but I don't quite understand the series of thought bubbles. :( I think the one is implying "Screwball" but the other appears like Olaf from "Frozen" is after MJ while the parents are not thinking of sugar? This misunderstanding on my part is very likely my limited vision so I do not believe it to be anything on your part.

Kaffre's is a speech bubble, if that helps. Basically, the other characters are hearing Kaffre's interpretation of events (MJ being eaten by the snow) and we're seeing what they'te thinking in response: the mommies are deciding to cut back the kitty's sugar intake while lil' MJ is beginning to seriously questioning his choice of companions for playtime...

You're welcome. Also, it's not entirely luck, when deciding which of us should fall through the snowbank, I watched my kitties walking atop the thigh-high snow I was trudging through - though in retrospect, if MJ has any polar bear heritage he might be able to do the same...
