I was in Tucson for the huge rock and gem show and made a point of doing at least a sketch a day.

I used to love going to the rock and gem shows. My dad still has our lapidary equipment. And a 30 pond chunk of Tigereye.

I picked up a big fist size chunk of Australian Tiger eye. Mainly as a geological specimen.

This is Indian Tiger Eye. He got it before it was illegal to import it. I used to have a Tiger Eye belt buckle. It was a 2 inch by 1 1/2 inch cabochon. It cracked down the short axis.

The Freeway Hotel group with a bunch of Australian material. We were based near the cluster of hotels at 22nd and the freeway. The Australians were one of the hotel clusters a few blocks North. We did breakfasts at the Kettle.
