Historically, the title 'Minister of Commerce' was very much esteemed, rivaling even Guild Masters in notoriety, prestige, and in some cases eccentricy. In some cases, the two titles would be held by the same person, but more often this was only the case in smaller cities.

Aamir the Ever-eccentric was Minister to the city of Rin Jaan, commonly called 'the Loc Lac of the South'. He was well known for his jovial personality and fondness for gambling. His favorite thing to bet on was arena combat, and his 'requests' to hunters who partook in such challenges were infamous for their mind-numbing difficulty or in some cases their outright absurdity.

One thing that is little known about Aamir -even to this day- is that neither he nor his favored guard Nasim were human. Aamir was a seizho; Nasim was a bajarl.
