"Lunah is a very curious Gemlin and ventures above ground regularly to gather plants or items that she desires. In early days she would just take what she wanted but with patience locals have developed a rudimentary line of communication and sometimes leave small gifts or offerings out for her.
However she is considered a bit of a loner and generally is only visited by other Gemlins that are hunters, gatherers or curious. She lives away from many other Gemlins and to some is a little bit mysterious.
Although of a species known for living underground Lunah is very much in tune with the moon and stars (not only of her home world but of Earth too), spending much time outside. She is an avid gardener planting by the seasons, using her inbuilt luna calendar as a guide and each plant she grows has a small chip of a suitable mineral or gem at its base that is there to strengthen and enhance the growth of the plant. Her horn and tail gem stinger are of rutilated sapphire.
When underground her favourite living area is a gigantic cavernous amphitheatre like cave which has many reflective crystals feeding well lit filtered light from above (sun or moon light) that acts much like a green house.
Due to its location and nearby thermal pools it is always warm and she can grow a huge range of plants in here. Many small prey animals are attracted to this area making it an ideal hunting ground for easy meals. Much of the cave systems nearby contain rich deposits of minerals and gems to satisfy her hunger too. A smallish cave to the south contains her lair with a large gem nest in the rear.
Other Gemlins that come there do so with her permission or at their own peril as she is very protective of her garden and lair. She is very sensitive to movements with her beloved cave system and above ground garden.
Her unique talents are widely sought after by her own kind and she has a large medicinal garden that very helpful but local knowledge sees her sought after by other species above too.
This lass can grow anything underground from edible tasty fungi to seaweed to full grown trees or even cactus.
She may be considered a little peculiar by others as she has an affinity for growing edible items and enjoys the taste of such things but the concept of eating plant growth seems to be catching on beyond the medicinal area.
Lunah has a rudimentary concept of bartering as more of the above world now come with gems or on occasion bring rare plants to trade or to purchase produce from her.
As years have gone by her knowledge and time is now sometimes albeit carefully sought out to solve issues and problems to do with any garden or plant. Some bringing samples of soil so that she can taste the soil and show you what mineral is missing for good harvests, she can smell tell the ph of the soil with ease.
In rare cases, if she chooses on such odd occasions Lunah may even visit a location to make changes to the orientation of growing areas to suit a particular location or plant etc."

Update 1: Faecal matter (poop) and Urine from a Gemlin is very rich in fine powdered gem stone, minerals, nitrogen etc so it is highly sought after for gardens. Lunar has an area set aside as a latrine that she has set up to allow such waste products to be utilised in her own garden and visiting Gemlin's are encourage to use it also.
