Oh man I finally drew something. 6_9 If you hadn't noticed, I've been going through a raging art block for perhaps the last 4 months, so it's amazing something finally happened.
Well this is Gargouille. He's a gargoyle in the traditional sense, in that his purpose in life is actually to work as a rain gutter on a cathedral. (Long before modern vernacular messed with it, a grotesque chimera statue was only a "gargoyle" if it directed rainwater from a building, through its mouth. Early rain gutters.) His secondary purpose is to, yanno, fight of the spawn of hell from entering the cathedral should they approach, but most importantly it's keeping the damn cathedral dry.
You can't see in this pic, but he's hollow on the inside, with an open gutter running along his spine to catch the rain, emptying out his mouth. He's completely stone, a dark slate blue/green color, with streaking mineral deposits running down him from centuries of weathering. He can move freely if he ever feels the need to, but even when he does, he has the texture and density of stone. When he's not moving, he clings to the side of his cathedral by his back legs only, suspended away from the building, mouth agape to spew the rainwater.
YES, I LIKE HIM. <3

Oh PS, I totally cheated and added the paper texture digitally this time. Needed to make it gallery-worthy. :B

I must say, when you quieted down and stopped posting your arts, it made me cry real tears.
But anyway. It is a huge creepy coincidence that I just finished (today!) deciding that I would do a gargoyle for my next art project in college!
I want to +Fave this, then take it off and +Fave it again. Because it deserves two of 'em.
