Just goofing about the house, thought I'd get a pic taken in my living room. Got the WS2812B LEDs in the background driving by an Arduino Uno. Doing some programming and testing.

Dang somebody already beat me to it. Do you fly very often or do you only fly every once in a while? I also have a set of LEDs behind my center computer monitor, but they aren't arduino driven. Sometime soon, I'm going to try to make a POV lighting effect system using RGB LEDs on a plane, but that might be pushed off for a long time with college starting next year.
The LEDs behind the monitor are just a set of Costco RGB LEDs controlled by a 22key IR remote. It was like $30 bux for 12' of LEDs. Which is what I also use on my current LED under suit. The LEDs above are WS2812b LEDs. They are RGB, but each one has a tiny micro controller inside that can take in a data signal and output it to the next LED (pixel). So I can choose 255 shades of Red,Blue,Green... I bought 10 meters of the stuff for like $150 bux. Arduino can be found as cheap as $8 bux for a nano that would be perfect to drive a few LEDs on an aircraft.
As for RC itself, I actually fly rarely. I raced a few friday's ago for the first time in 3 years lol.
