In the year of 1979, Don Bluth made his very first animated movie called "Banjo-The woodpile cat"!
The story is about Banjo, an overly curious and rebellious kitten who, after getting into trouble for falling from a house to see if he could land on his feet, runs away from his woodpile home in his owners' farm in Payson, Utah by catching a truck to Salt Lake City.
The film took four years to make and the running time is only 30 minutes!
It's a beautiful story and the scene that touched very deeply my heart was when Banjo after running away from home, hungry, alone and under a pouring rain, in his heart longed to return with his family!
This drawing is made based on that scene, along with one of the most beautiful songs heard in the film, titled "The rain song":
"It was raining that day,
the bright golden sun was gone away!
The clouds of despair,
made a storm inside.
And Banjo lay down and he cried!
You have wandered far from home,
now the good times have come and gone!
Now you're wiser enough to see,
that the good times,
the very best times were back home...
with your family!"
At least this film has a happy ending!Thank God they finally pulled the film on dvd format! Here is the link for the full movie, I know you will love it as I loved it too!*hugs*
