TJ was strolling through the park, enjoying an unseasonably warm February day. He heard a soft mewing coming a bush along the path.

Being the kind sort, the young fox slowly crept towards the bush, and carefully peered inside. He saw a small orange kitten, obviously lost, and covered with dirt. TJ laid his crutches down, and dug in his rucksack for something to entice the small feline.

"Bingo!" TJ thought to himself, as he pulled a slab of bologna out of his sandwich, tearing it into tiny bits. Crouching down, he crawled towards the bush, calling softly to the kitten, and holding out a bit of meat.

The kitten gingerly stuck her nose out of the hiding place, and sniffed at the treat TJ held in his paw. She carefully took a small bit, then darted back into her hole. Disappointed, but patient, TJ waited for the kitten to once again emerge. Building up trust slowly, TJ was able to make friends with the kitten, and carefully carry her home.

"I hope she makes friends with my other cat," TJ thought as he carried his rescued kitten home.
