This is the cooling tower of the local nuclear power plant. Because there was no wind the steam just went straight up. And I can't describe to you how peaceful it was. Weird to believe that only a few miles away was the chaos of rush hour traffic and the twisted jumble of interstates. All I heard was the occasional car cross the nearby bridge, with the faint noise of tires replaced by lonely silence soon after.
