Never heard of Pox Parties? Since you basically get chicken pox ONCE in your life, it's best to get it as a kid cus then it's easier to deal with as opposed to dealing with it as an adult, which is apparently hell. Parents usually try to get as many of their kids infected at one time to they can get it out of the way once and for all.

Yeah, if you get it as an adult it can be life-threatening, but I never had anyone try to get infected off of me when I had it--I thought at the time it was just like any other sickness, where you avoided infection whenever possible. Makes sense, though--and if the parents trust one another enough, it'd probably be simpler to care for a bunch of kids with chicken pox all under one roof at the same time than spread out in space and time.

We did that too in my family. I got chicken pox as a kid one easter and so all of my cousins who hadn't had it yet were crammed into the family RV with me and so we had all the soup, juice, and board games we could handle. Oddly one of my fonder memories.

i never had the chicken pox, i think i was imuniced with a shot when i was young. my bro got it though.
