I happened to see a speech by Nick Clegg of the Lib Dems earlier last week and the name stuck. Yes, he is called Clegg. If you have ever seen Last of the Summer Wine, you will have seen a character called Norman Clegg. So naturally, as I've been watching this show every day its on, I put two and two together. Thing is that it makes more sense of UK politics than some cheap comedy skits (Frankie Boyle excluded)...

Well, thinking of the characters of the parties, I thought Gordon Brown was more like the leader, the one telling the other two what to do and loathe to do it himself. Clegg is more the background and not quite there, always backing away from confrontation (Lib Dems have never been noted for being really caustic) and Cameron is always poking Brown whenever he can. So I think this formed my opinion of it.
And Brown was somehow more a Seymour/Foggy Dewhurst than a Truly or a Blawire (however you spell it). :P He always seemed that way to me anyway.
