When you're infertile, it makes it a bit difficult to live in a family as open and as ...well, prolific as the Tawners. I love my sisters dearly. And every neice, nephew, and neiphew (I just made that up!) also has a place in my heart. But sometimes, there is that aching desire, the biological clock that smacks you on the head, telling you that you need to contribute more to the family. You need to bring someone special in the world, and join them with special people in your life.
Seeing the beautiful fox-lungdragon children that Niko had with Taross, Tazel couldn't be happier and prouder of hir sisters. And admittedly a bit jealous. There was no earthly way shi could add to the love in that manner.
Taross, however, thought different. Maybe no earthly way, but the ways of lungdragons were above the earth, mysteries of the skies and beyond. If there is love, there will be a way.
And there was love. There will always be love. And now, there is someone else full of love, and beloved, to add to the family.
A picture was taken to represent that moment, the joining in that one bond. Sairai joined hir siblings Ainir and Hizo, while Tazel joined Niko with their mutual sister and lover, bringing the new arrivals a room full of happiness, wonder, magic...
...and family.An absolutely breathtaking commission created by

Niko Tawner and our children. Words can't express how pleased I am at how it came out, and it's truthfully buoyed my mood tonight.
