I wonder if you've ever read any of Kittiara's "Trouble's Tales" series? You might just find some inspiration there. I believe they're still out on VCL ( http://us.vclart.net/vcl/Authors/Kittiara/ ). On the other hand, her stuff was most definitely for adults, and if you're underage or not into that kind of thing you'd probably do best skipping it.

And that makes me wonder if any of my own fiction is still floating around out there... I need to go look.
