Meh, I take the opportunity on fat fur pieces to forgo some crucial anatomical rules to deliver a piece which still retains some realism, yet looks a lot more fantastical. XD I like the style. Yeah, needs work, as does everything, but I'm happy with how it's coming along. ^^

I'd try it with Sketch, but...you know, that booty goes beyond fantastical. :p

That is exactly what I said to a friend on Skype. XD The pear shape is one I like best. For this pose, it puts that extra emphasis on the hindquarters and as you well know, that's my favourite. :p

Oh wow Tene, I was severely underwhelmed by the art in my inbox today - scrolling past quicker as I reached the bottom, but this just grabbed me straight away and I had to click the thumbnail.

The thing that impresses me the most about this is the colouring and how you've detailed the fur, his hindquarters being my favourite (and not just for the booty ;D) - the strokes and shading really define the form. But of course the rest is bloody damn fine too! I like how you've still kept your detailed/realistic style yet maintained the characters signature pupil-less eyes. The bodyshape is also awesome, it's very pleasing to look at.

May I ask what pencils you used for this? I don't really use them now but seeing this has made me want to start throwing pencil back into my art.

Directing the fur correctly is necessary, I think. Fur does flow in a certain way and I make sure I stick to that. Of course you'd like the hindquarters; I can already see Enigma under there for some reason or another.

I just used Derwent Studio pencils for this. I'm getting a little sick of them to be honest; they feel weird to use and blending them is beyond me. If you want to use pencils...I reckon you could give Inktense pencils a shot.

Hmm, this was not my finest hour. Or finest somewhere between three and four hours. I'm not proud of it.
