A very weird horror story I wrote years back based on a dream. Below is a sample. Download for full story.
She gave up on trying reading. Ari went back to the older part of the library, hoping to find out what the disturbance really was.
She didn’t expect to find a man, laying down, clutching an odd looking book to his chest, mumbling to himself in an aisle. She knelt down, interrupting his seeming monologue.
“Can you hear me?” She spoke gently, not wanting to surprise him. When he looked up at her, one of his eyes was glowing red. Not dried, drunk, hung-over red, fucking stop-light glowing red.
“Stay away.” His voice came out hoarse.
“No problem. Mind telling me how the crap you got some sort of demonic possession shit going on?” her voice was wry, since she didn’t suffer fools, gladly or otherwise. She had a feeling this guy was going to be some serious stupid work.
Both his eyes blazed red. Rut-roh.
“Daughter of eve,” he began to his, the demon in control. She interrupted him before he could go on.
“No. Daughter of Hecate. Daughter of Danu. Daughter of Gaia.” She…well, it was more a bearing of teeth than a smile.
“Comrade…” A sickening smile.
Ariana snorted. “Bullshit. You must be pretty damn low on the food chain to try and convince me we’re on the ‘same team’ as it were.”
Another hiss.
“Put the man back on the freaking microphone, will you? I can always pull my exorcism kit out of my bag if you don’t.” She lifted said bag so the demon would get the idea.
“No! Will kill usss!” And the eyes closed. When they opened again, both were a golden brown in color.
“I…tried to summon a demon…to help me. Something went wrong and our life forces tied together, trapping him in me…” The man struggled to sit up.
“You’re a damned idiot, Warlock. Quite possibly in a literal sense now.” Ari muttered in disgust.
