These little pests are all over Ohio.
FUN FACT:
see the way its rear legs are out to its sides and up?
scientists believe this is a defensive pose to ward off predators, or in this case me,
the wind was blowing and i had to hold this leaf still to get a good picture ^_^

An interesting way to keep Japanese Beetles away from roses is to plant geraniums mixed in with the roses. Japanese Beetles tend to be drawn to the geraniums instead of roses, plus geraniums are toxic to them.
Very nice photo of the beetle, its a shame their so destructive because I quite like them.

I didn't mind this one at all, Took this picture at least 30 miles from home on the outskirts of a lake,
my grandma keeps a Huge wonderful garden in the back yard, and we dont have much of a problem with them at home,
we do see a few from time to time on the plants in the front yard, but its not bad enough to warrant action towards them :)
they are just hungry. they don't know any better. lol and yes i think they are rather neat looking as well. this lil
guy even posed for me.
