Look everyone! It's BURAKUWARUGUREYMON-SAMA!!!
(Or Lord Blackwargreymon.)
When this character was suggested, I thought of trying approaching it from a completely different perspective. Surprisingly, the sketch came out well and I decided to actually colour this sunuvabitch, making it the first coloured image of 2015. Of course the background is what it is and perhaps the only bad thing in it (I kind of wish that SAI would have Smudge tool so I could drag some of the painted things around), but other than that, I like it alot.

Big Blackwargreymon is best Blackwargreymon; and Ascending-in-power-and-draped-in-royal-battle-wear Big Blackwargreymon is best Big Blackwargreymon.
I do believe this is among your best works, to be honest. I do appreciate the clean, form-defining outlines, and, for his physique, size and muscularity, this linework perspectice truly work wonders.
Couple that with the background (which could indeed do with a bit of smudging, but still does its job beautifully) and you have a respectable, fearsome and powerful display.
I rather like how his form catches the light that surrounds him; it gives a nice feeling of three dimensions, along with the folds of the cape!
And the choice of colours is spot-on for this instance. The cold and dark colours (courtesy of the background and sir Blcakwargreymon himself) contrast the red of his cape and the gold of his necklace in a very pleasing fashion. The entire image is very nice to look at!
Excellent work, sir!

You already mentioned that you had difficulties with the background. Instead, I shall say that the bright blues contrast excellently with the very-dark Blackwargreymon. In fact, their brightness... getting closer to white... bestows upon Blackwargreymon a celestial feeling. The lighting gives Blackwargreymon a nice glow and pretty highlights. Also, the way the lights are balled up behind Blackwargreymon alludes to one of his Digimoves.
Blackwargreymon's pose itself seems to blend the above two ideas: he is both suggesting his wielding of the ball of energy but is, in fact, basking in the light. The angle of view itself not only contributes to that basking look but also gives an excellent view of his chest (and chain) while complementing the direction of the collar of his cape and the horns of his helmet. The musculature itself is greatly fleshed out, though I always wondered why you draw the wrist relatively thin... movability of the wrists?
The colours of the cape make a great complement to Blackwargreymon's colours, the chain, while a little jarring colour-wise, gives that royal look. The chain also looks great laid upon his pecs. I also like how your pattern on the red part of the cape gave mass to the cape.
