Still with me? Thanks!
19. So Key-uuuuute! The nose is actually made out of foam cut to shape, and a ladies slipper sock (same as the V2 nose) This time I also had that bit in the main foam like you saw. The handy bit about that nose cut I made in the upper mouth is that's where I tucked the excess of the sock. (I cut off most, but you still have a little leftover.)
20. This was about what it looked like when all was said and done. Another tip for you folks?
AVOID LONG COWLS!
They take ages to get tucked in. trap heat without remorse. Bulk up your torso and nothing else, and result in people confusing your gender if you put them on wrong. Keep your cowl nice and small.
Maybe you can wear some velcro or somesuch to keep it flush with your neck?
21&22. These are really just filler. To get my gloves as snug as I do (and they're about as snug as commercial grade gloves) I trace a turkey pattern. A turkey pattern as you probably know, is just drawing your hand on a piece of paper. Drawing an outline around my trace, I cut out the now thicker hand, and use it as my template for the fur. Placing the pieces back to back (fur on the inside) I begin sewing nice and loose with a widely spaced lock stitch, I put the glove on my hand, and begin bringing the lock stitching closer. Closer... OW! Just got stabed by the needle, it's close enough now!
I (mildly) exagerate, but that's how I do it. I used to sew my gloves with my hands outside the glove. and that resulted in a large number of mishappen mishaps.
By using just this little bit of "pain is gain" method. You'll typically end up with a glove that fits you just like a second skin. (I have been able to play (and win) first person shooters with these gloves on.
And so we come to a close.
Questions? Comments? Go right ahead. I realise I probably jumped over a lot of important stuff, but that's just me having a typical mind fart.
Hopefully though y'all enjoyed the read. Got a little something out of it. and if you weren't just looking at the pictures. (heck, even if you were) Hopefully you picked up on my mistakes, and won't make em yourself when you decide to do something crazy like this.
