He wanted a shot of this particular sequence, so we went off to one corner and got a rather clean one. Wish I had had a slightly wider-angle lens, but we're rather close geographically, so we may reshoot some time in the future. All that said, I like how it came out. These sticks also do the blinking thing but without the large ball to diffuse them over a larger area, the dot pattern is much more distinct.
