What is the background filled in with? You might want to invest in some super black AD markers(They're pretty juicy and cheaper than prismas) or india ink to better blend the blacks. Alternately if your scanner as a 'black and white text or image' option, then it'll scan PURE black.
That aside, this is some pretty nice pen work! I especially enjoy the white highlights and receding background.
