So here I decided to play with one of my older photos. I did a black and white level and contrast balancing act here to see what I could do. After some time, this seemed to me like a good balance, but I'm open to suggestions. I'll post the original photo next.

Thank you! It was tough because the brighter it was, the more detail came out of the tree and the ferns. But if it was too bright the sky on the top would have no detail, and I wanted to keep some of the cloud detail up there.
In the end it looked desolate, which was what I was aiming for.
