I have known many people in my life. Some have come, some have gone, but there are very few in this world who I would consider a true, dear, and personal friend. I commissioned this piece as a gift to my dear compatriot  recca_sen_li, as a way to show him my gratitude for being one of those people.

I'm not always the easiest person to get along with. I have depression, anxiety, and general physical ailments that plague me daily, but I cope. Even still, these traits make me someone who isn't always the easiest person to get to know; this guy knows that first hand. He knows more about me than almost anyone else, and I know that despite our ups and downs, that if I ever needed him, he'd be there for me in whatever way he could. He's kicked my ass up and down so many times, I've considered changing species to a kangaroo, but you know what? I deserved it a lot of the time, and he has helped to change me for the better. This man is a part of my life that I cannot imagine ever living without.

Recca, thank you for being one of my best friends, and a general, much-loved pain in my ass. I know we don't get to talk as much anymore, what with my medical issues and life in general, but don't think I've forgotten all that you've done for me as a person, as a peer, and as a beloved friend. Thank you.
