The light pollution is quite bad here so I can't see it with the naked eye. The the Pleiades star cluster, which Lovejoy is currently near by, looks like a very small and faint cloud with the naked eye. Looking Lovejoy with binoculars, it appears similar to the Pleiades with the naked eye. You can probably still see it for another week, maybe more.

Also I would say this image http://www.ericstrother.com/downloads/EMS_1728.jpg from about 5-7 feet away would approximate what the sky looked like to the naked eye that night
