Just a little something to tide you over while I finally get back up to speed. It's been forEVER since I've posted a comic, and I promise, one is in the works.

In the meantime, here's some concept art. My original idea for the zuzelandthefox.com website was not just to do Rudek and the Bear as a webcomic, but to do a series of self-contained stories and adventures as webcomics. Żużel (who is a main character in the graphic novel I'm working on, and whom you haven't seen much of yet) would get her own webcomic, to help me practice drawing her, and to develop some backstory--you know, just like Rudek and the Bear is supposed to do for Rudek and Malutki.

Anyway, the idea is that Żużel, who's birth name is unknown, and who is only dubbed Żużel by Rudek later on, is adopted by a Lynx and his Lioness wife, a couple of poor Polish farmers living a few miles from Zoppot / Sopot in the Freie Stadt Danzig. They name her Beatka, and provide for her, but are too busy and poor to really raise her right. So, she starts rolling with the street gang of Felix, the son of the Lynx farmer who's a couple years older. To Felix's left is Gronek, his not-so-bright lieutenant, and to the right of Żużel is Szybki--you know the type: smart, nervous, but wants to fit in.

So some day I might write their adventures and do it as a webcomic. But in the mean time their only planned appearance is in the first few pages of Żużel and the Fox, the graphic novel.
