Personal: Galaxy Ocelot
I had this idea floating in my head for about a week before I finally got to it a little over a week ago. Kept me up at night, so I decided it was better to put it down by drawing it. I also wanted something I can display at my table openly, and possibly sell prints and posters of. So I'm quite pleased overall, not quite what I had in my head, but overall pretty close.

Media Type: Digital Lineless
Background Type: Full Render
Programs Used: SAI and some Photoshop
Additional Details: I took some nebulae pictures and placed them on it for color picks and painted over top. Clouds are hard to paint. So it was a great help. You can see the ones I used if you get the PSD rank.

Pleeease bring more glorious artwork like this to FA <3 this, in my opinion, is what the community needs more of. We need to show more of our creative side and show furs arent just about pron or crazy weird fetishes lol, it can be friggin amazing like this as well. Keep up the fantastic work Iggi, bravo for this....
I'd also love to learn how to do lineless art like this, Ive been having a very difficult time figuring out how to pull away from lined work, if you could give me some tips in a note maybe I would greatly appreciate it <3

Thank you! I'll try and think of some tips, but I'd probably have an easier time making a video. Specific questions might be even more helpful so I know what you are looking for help wise.
But it is why I decided to go with the Patreon thing. So I can get a little funding to have more time to do stuff like this instead of the adult stuff that pays my bills. As things like this are good learning experiences far more than the average commission. Not that I mind the adult stuff, but I didn't get into the art to draw pron. :p I plan to do more stuff like this, the more I get from Patreon.

I totally understand that haha, I kinda refuse to draw pron myself and would looove to be able to get my skill level to something like this. I'd love to be an illustrator/concept artist for games and movies but I'm worried if I can actually improve myself both in art skill and imagination to fit the needs for such a career. As far as specific questions, my main problem is how its done, liiike....
How do you build things up? Do you go off a rough sketch and just form things from there or is the sketch finished and you paint over/beneath it? I really want to improve myself as an artist and hopefully find my true potential, if I don't have that in art i don't think theres much else I'd be good for hahaha XD art is kinda my life.
Also I have a really cool picture I've been trying to work on, I have the idea in my head but not too sure how to approach it.. if you would like I can share more with you in notes if you'd be willing to help? ^^ maybe even with the overall composition or something.

How do you build things up? I usually still do a sketch, then block it out with a big brush. I make that a masked layer with it'self as the mask, then brush in the general colors. Sometimes this includes minor lighting, toher times it is just the base. I take that base and I run HSV on it to darken it to the mid-level shadows, and may adjust the colors a bit to be more blue or red, whatever the shadows should be. A photo with similar colors and lighting is a good way to see.
Do you go off a rough sketch and just form things from there or is the sketch finished and you paint over/beneath it? I do usually just go off of a rough sketch, depending on the character I may detail it some. Then after I block things in I will take the sketch layer and move it above the blocks turn it to a multiply layer blending type and lower it's opacity a great deal to use it to rough in some of the details on the block layer. So I still keep the idea. After that I usually hide the sketch and begin detailing from that point with the main colors, then finally the highlights.
Not all artists do it this way. It is just a way I like, and it may change in time as I see other artists and their tutorial videos that teach me something.
