Standing Tall ('magic eye')
This is a steriogram, or a 'magic eye' as its better known as. The image should look like the thumbnail.
I love these things for some reason and occasionally play around with them. So have some feet in glorious 3D.

If you are having trouble seeing this, then
GuyInThePurpleHat has suggested the following:
This is the first time I have EVER gotten one of these to work properly in my life! I saw the Legs, Feet, Trees, everything. The catch is that I was only able to do it on my phone and only after taking my glasses off. My glasses seemed to get in the way of the effect.
Some tips for anyone who reads this.
1. If you need to use prescription glasses (like me) to see, TAKE THEM OFF!
2. Set your screen to maximum brightness, it's easier to do this on a small screen like a phone or tablet.
3. Do the whole "press your face up against the picture" thing that they always told you to do.
4. Relax your eyes and "try" to not focus on a single point anywhere. The point is that your eyes need to DIVERGE, not CONVERGE. Meaning, your eyes need to derp in the other direction.
5. If you notice something that looks 3D, focus on that while continuing to move slowly away from the screen.
Once you get far enough away the 3D will pop out and you'll see the image. I haven't been able to get this to work on my tv/computer screen as of writing this note, but I saw it on my phone so I know I am at least capable of doing it in the one situation.

It's one of those hidden image things. They were everywhere in the early 90s; people were hanging up huge hideous pictures just like this in their living rooms and visitors marvelled at them.
To see it you have to go cross eyed, looking at a point I'm space between your eyes and the image.

Yes as far as I know you can, in theory. There's a type where the focal point is behind the image and one where its above. If you focus on the wrong point it can look inverted; so I'm guessing you are looking behind the picture instead of above it?
I could be wrong though, this is just my understanding of it all.

Yeah... same here, I can only see the image 'inside-out' and I can't for the love of me invert the outcome. That being said I mostly tend to see strange cave-live thingies in these things as the images used to align the views can be quite distracting. ^^;
I wouldn't want to say it's the worst kind of stereoscopic 3d out there but...

I think the magic eye illusion is made up personally. I had every member of my family, and every one of my local friends in Highschool (back when I actually went to it) look at a book full of these on various pages and try to guess the image it is "meant" to look like. None guessed it right, and others completely made stuff up.
EX: You're supposed to see a butterfly on X page, but one person sees a dinosaur, and another sees a face with angry eye brows.
They function a lot more like Blot Tests for people I have met than having their actual intended effect. But who knows, maybe just nobody I know knows how to use them.

Its the latter; or they were paricularily bad examples. Its a limited medium for sure but its not a hoax.
The noise of the pattern can distract from the image, and a lot of detail can be lost, but aside from that they work as they should. In the submission above, it can be difficult to tell the trees are actually trees, and the tips of the toes can get lost a bit in the ground, but aside from that its a clear image of two dragon or dinosaur feet.

Its interesting to see you say that; I did a few of these a few years ago and some people said they couldn't see it then either. I wonder if my patterns work poorly for some people and not others. Or something.
It does work though, I wouldn't have put it up if it wasn't clear. At least for me.
Though it does look flatter on my phone than the PC.

There's a bunch of free generators floating around, some better than others. For this one I just used a website using my own texture and depth pass. It was here if you wanna check it out:

Its frustrating to try and get working, but you can do some neat stuff with it. I even got an animation happening with it a few years back ^^http://www.furaffinity.net/view/9670610/

The paws look good. The trees look kinda wonky, I think because they're multi-tiered; the way the shape breaks up on the sides kind of throws it. I think the tree shape would be more recognizable if they were each one cone shape all the way to the top. I gotta try making one of these

Its not much fun to look at by itself though :(

I can cross my eyes just fine and see the images in these kinds of pictures. The problem I've always had is that I never see a 3D images. I see the background come toward me and the 3D image is an indent inside the object.
Example: If you took a ball and dropped it into soft dirt so it left a caved in impression in the dirt after bouncing out, that is what I see.
So when I look at the image above, I see 4 objects and I can see the outline of the leg and dew claw for each foot, but everything below that gets muddled up in the indent and I can't see what it's supposed to be.
If you hadn't linked that example image of what it should be I wouldn't have known what I was looking at.
Am I supposed to be looking at a 3D image? I'd really like to know since nobody has ever clarified this for me.

Well. Some actual good news. I FINALLY GOT THIS ONE TO WORK FOR ME!
This is the first time I have EVER gotten one of these to work properly in my life! I saw the Legs, Feet, Trees, everything. The catch is that I was only able to do it on my phone and only after taking my glasses off. My glasses seemed to get in the way of the effect.

Around 25yrs of only seen an indent and this is the first time I see the actual 3D! ^^

I did a depth render of my dragons feet and then used this website to render the output:

Then try this
Download the image so its the only thing on the browser page. Zoom out so the image is "smaller", the bigger the image is the harder it is to see, but don't go to small.
Next follow my steps below
1. Once you have the image zoomed out to a smaller size (Where Your hand can cover some but not all of the image) I want you to smoosh your face in close!!! and stare straight ahead.
2. Don't focus on anything, just count to ten and let your eyes wonder.
3. at the last count of ten slowly start to lean back, if you see something as your leaning back, focus on it
4. At this point you should see the image! Congrats
5. The Spell will be broken immediately if your eye flick pass the borders of the image! so watch out!!!

There does seem to be a lot of issues people have, and they seem to be widespread. I used to think that it was just something you can practice and then finally 'get', but I think theres a ton of issues like eyesight and perhaps even how your brain handles the phenomena which might prevent a lot of people from properly seeing it.
I ended up being quite divisive :s

This one doesnt work too well when your monitor is not oriented correctly either. LOL I use my alienware monitor in portrait mode so the conveyance of contrast is borked by the horrid viewing angles in portrait mode, works perfectly in landscape mode. Although that is because this is a high end panel designed to be used in landscape an not portrait mode lol. But I use my plasma for gaming and this for viewing the web and watching stuffs. SO for this to work nicely you monitor has to portray contrast and color brightness evenly for the image to "pop." Cool beans to you doing the pic though.
Then try this because i can see it and its freaking cool!!

I finally Got it!
Here is my tips to getting this thing to work~
I Downloaded the image so its the only thing on the browser page.(Less distractions for my eyes to catch)
Next I had to Zoom out so the image is smaller, since the bigger the image, the harder it is to see.
Then I did the following steps
1. Once I had the image zoomed out to a smaller size,(small enough where I could cover most but not all of the image with my hand) I smooshed my face in close! and just stare straight ahead.
2. Tried not focus on anything, just counted to ten and let my eyes wonder.
3. at the last count of ten I slowly started to lean back, if I saw something I'd focus on it
4. At this point I could see the image! yeah me!
5. The Spell will be broken immediately if my eyes flicked pass the borders of the image though! so watch out!!!

I saw a mess at first, but it was a 3D mess. THen it suddenly changed and I saw an inverted version of what it was meant to be. I think you did soemthing backwards here. It took me ages to force my eyes to go outwards with is 100 times harder than just going crosseyed. But I finally saw it... And it wasn't that great really.
