Follow the money. It's pretty much all about money really. $10 Taliban and all that really. Most suicide bombers are doing it to ensure their families financial survival than whatever cause they are told it's for. You have obscene amounts of wealth in the hands of religious zealots who think they can buy their way onto Allah's good side by giving money and training to people with no future to die for the cause.

The only part of this that actually frightens me is how insidious it really is. Like Kath says it's starts with powerful people who know how to use a religion to instigate terror without laying hands on weapons themselves. And their warriors don't wear uniforms or advertise themselves in any way, not until it's too late.

This is terrorism at its most potent and in its purist form. You simply don't know who's going to take the message in and react to it.

This can't be fought with a war on terrorism. It can't be fought with a war on religion. The battle they're waging is a war against ideas. Their ideas of how we should all live and ours cannot co-exist, at least not according to them. How do you declare war against an idea? Obviously you can't. And besides, declaring war on an idea is what tyranny is all about. How can you protect yourself against those who are willing to commit heinous crimes against the public when its their ideas that are the enemy?

Well, they died at the end. Take a little comfort in the fact that they didn't die like martyrs like they wanted but like the worthless criminal scum that they actually were. I'd bury their bodies in an unmarked grave under a pig stye slathered in pork grease and wrapped in pigskin leather then dropping them into the hole face down. France then needs to make it very clear that all future "Islamic" terrorists will be treated the same. It might give them pause if the government made every effort to deny them their virgins and paradise.
