Man, BLT's such a great movie, and it's so often overlooked :(

I'd say it's one of the most underrated animated films of it's era. Definitely needs more appreciation for the dark themes it explored.

Yeah, Disney botched it's marketing, supposedly on purpose. A lot of the people who worked on it later worked at Pixar, most notably John Lasseter. You can see a lot of parallel themes between BLT and Toy Story.

I don't really know if it was underrated. The only message I got from it was "Don't bother going out for yourself, eventually whatever you are looking for will come back for you on its way to college and nearly getting you and your friends killed was for nothing, you stupid stupid toaster you.

PS: It is one of the best movies ever from my childhood but rewatching it a couple years back made me laugh a lot about the pointlessness of the journey.

Yes, because there's no way that a movie about cartoon cars lamenting their shattered and worthless lives and then getting crushed to death in an evil anthropomorphized trash compactor would have an adverse effect on an impressionable young mind

You know, I actually theorize that BLT really wasn't meant to be a kids movie. If there were perhaps a few less songs and a couple other drops in some childishness it would really, really be seen more as the adult movie I feel it is.

Though this gave me an idea you might like to try. Although she's the latest android (and could update herself at any moment), what if she had a rival android character who's just as advance that performed alternate functions? Maybe they butt heads against each other sometime of who's more updated and who's outdated.

Much of my computer is built from parts from a recycling center, also the cell phone i now use for an MP3 player also came from there. I have on many occasions taken things from the recycling center to use because why throw something out thats maybe got a finneky power plug or a few dead pixels on the screen...being dirt poor you learn the true value of things.
