Fennekim are short.
So they need vantage points.
Accordingly climbing upon somebody is, in their culture, nothing impolite, as they take great care neither to hurt or damage a person or the persons clothign in the process.
It is however, so fennekim see it themselves, showing somebody that they take the person as important - important persons must be big persons, so provide a better lookout - as well as worth of a fennekims protection - when you sit upon a persons head you can see any danger approaching that person.
Lore has it that fennekim are just most of the time so boosted on honey and sugary things that the concept of walking around a person seems too complex compared with keepign on moving on ones initial route. Being polite and gentlemanly operates in another part of the brain thats not busy with keeping a fennekims limbs coordinated, and thus has the time to even make a short conversation whilst climbing over a person.
The equivalent is humans greeting each other in passing by without actually realizing the person they just greeted is a person they were on their way to to have some talk with.
