One could think that a polearm could never reap such devastation, but things are flammable, and while Mace Zanders, Commander of the Ascension, is not one to be inaccurate with his swings, a long enough battle with a plasma weapon inevitably sees the immediate surroundings reduced to ash and cinders. So the lesson, I suppose, is don't use plasma weapons indoors.
