I like them! Have a great personality to them that will be fun and varied I think with what other players will come up with. Probably would be my proffered race choice so far hehe. Been loving the uniqueness of this game's aesthetics since your first few art pieces. Always enjoy seeing more
Heh, yup :) Weasel/ferret, red panda/raccoon, and meerkat were the big influences, although the fox feel sort of happened during colouring, I think! We tried versions with triangular ears, and it definitely turned this guy into a longfox XD The team originally wanted something more ferretty/weaselly, so we kept the little round ears instead.
*chuckles* Yes, I know, but I try not to use too much jargon when communicating with the rest of the development team :b Saying "no 'foot thumb' " is just as correct and more efficient than saying "no hallux": "What's a hallux?" "It's the 'foot thumb' you see in some animals, like birds and monkeys and rodents." "Oh, why didn't you just say that?" o_O
Fair enough, though; I have caught myself using terms like remiges and unguligrade before >_> which might be well known in by animal lovers and the furry community, aren't exactly commonplace :b
Phew! Anyway, yeah, appreciate the attention to nerdy detail, though! Thank you kindly :)

Aww, so cute! He looks like a Disney character!
And yes, I definitely want one PC from my Endless Realms game to be a Skidi, though I'll probably want to say that for all the playable races!
Also, I imagine that they would be natural enemies with the big wolf-like race, and probably wouldn't like the felines much, either. You know how nature goes!

I actually don't think they have any particular animosity with the other races, although you're right in that the big wolfy race might not like them much - however, not because of their species or physique or anything, persay, but because of their love for "general roguery" as I put it :V The big wolfies are pretty blunt and honour-bound, and frown upon using trickery rather than winning straight-up using hard facts or combat prowess ("only cowards, weaklings and fools rely on trickery and misdirection, because they know they couldn't triumph without it; worthy opponents succeed on their own merit" sort of position). Obviously, using trickery is a form of intelligence, but the wolf-guys typically see it as cheating :b

Kiiliki, Didarafi, Magooho, Skoforos, Gigo, Kimika - it's not set in stone or anything, but names with short "bouncy" syllables, often with hard consonants.
If you make a skidi OC, I'd love to see it! And yeah, feel free to make OCs out of any of the beasties or races, they're all open species provided you aren't using them for commercial reasons (making adoptables of them, selling designs for them, using them on your CD album/book cover, etc.)

As soon as I find someone willing to do art for this, I'll certainly post it up! I love what you guys are doing for this and I'm sorta going for the Treasure Planet thing with him. That scene where the doctor approaches the first mate and asks if he's the captain, then it turns out the captain certainly isn't him? That kinda thing.

If I may ask, why does this one have the...anatomy...of a Ken doll, if you get my drift?
All of the others except the Yakshi have something covering their crotch, and the Yakshi, being genderless, don't have anything to cover.
Is the "Ken" feature simply your version of a "censor bar," or is there some other explanation for that?

Because this game is PG, and the developers don't want any genitalia showing in the game. Because they don't want the game to be adult-only, and even then, most normal adults don't like looking at animal-junk :V (even if it should be there)
And to be fair, I don't think their genitalia would be all that notable:

Obviously, it's there and visible, but easily enough for our purposes to say that it's hidden, or hidden enough, by their fur.

XD Well, the art director thought the furred races (Dengu, Skidi and Ulvar Kyr) wouldn't need underwear since the fur covered them sufficiently. The point of the height chart was to show the races as "pure" and "nude" as modesty would allow, so people could see what they physically looked like, so if we didn't really need underwear, we didn't want to include them.
I wasn't being technical - the art director and I sometimes use less than technical terms when communicating with each other, haha.
I more was referring to how the lower haunches shouldn't be clearly defined/discrete, instead turning their legs into a single "blob" shape which fluidly changes shape depending on the skeleton underneath, similar to how cat and rodent haunches tend to from the way their skin/fur covers them, but dogs haunches less so.

*nods* Yes, I can see that. I think partly because in the last ten years or so, furries have become a bit infamous via internet culture, so people avoid certain animal-people looks/styles. On the other hand, Endless Realms was openly hoping to appeal to the furry fandom by adding a variety of "beast races" of different styles and species.
