Notes
Species: Kuruxu (created by me)
Physiology: He is a Forest Kuruxu. Forest Kuruxu are large and muscular like panthers. Their wings have become small through natural selection because they live in dense forests making large wings cumbersome. Smaller wings they can pull close to their bodies as the run and climb and hunt are ideal for survival. They have thick furry manes.
Their face is covered in a chitin growth, like the armor of a crab. They do have a skull underneath, but this carapace is attached to the surface of the skin and grows out to cover the nose. Kuruxu are tribal in nature, and value displays of strength, speed and cunning. When disputes arise, they will often be settled by wrestling and butting heads. When Kuruxu hatch they have a nubby egg tooth on the nose of their carapace. As they grow the egg tooth disappears leaving their faces smooth. The carapace extends from the top of the head to the nose in a smooth oval. The carapace is one solide color, typically ivory, but sometimes black or brown. Kuruxu paint their carapace to express their tribal values and individuality.
Kuruxu have 3 pairs of eyes. The smallest pair can sense heat.
Kuruxu make chittering sounds when communicating in a social setting. They also growl and snarl when they feel threatened.
