The gesture is what really gave the impression of death. The lighting was more to add to the ambiance. Instead of just being there like that, in a pose that is generally associated with a corpse, I gave it the beauty of the moonlight. If you look close, it's also lit with rose colored lights, to add to the "love of death" that her looks bring, as well as to give it less of a depressing look.
