I realy enjoy this cartoon, first of all, it is about Russian empire piece of history and also nice coloring and details.

Prety good music, though there are so many tranlations on this song, though my favs are english and russian version. Though both of them sounds diffrent. Thanks for sharing this peace

Very nicely done.

However, I had a problem with the beginning. Not sure if you were trying to imitate a music box, or a manual crank record player.

If the former, then why the scratching sounds?

If the latter, then why didn't the pitch slow down when the music slowed?

I'd go with the music box idea, myself, and take out the scratches.

Otherwise, very well done.

well.- i thought the scratching would be good so everyone knows "thats the music.-box scene ... and then starts the 'real music'"

Hm.. i was using a few strings.. a contrabassthing for the bassstring you hear.
A simple flute .. nothing special so said.

My wife's favorite movie... and the love song "At The Beginning" always makes me teary eyed. Great job on the whole wind-up thing. Liked the scratchiness as it transitioned into the regular music.

Hmm. Nice. I agree with Max though, the scratching and hissing may ought to come out, as that's more of a trait of an old record than a music box.

Perhaps I'm just finicky, but the chorus also comes on just a tad strong and indistinct, drowning out the other instruments. It turns those portions of the song into a vaguely melodic smudge of sound, to me.

All in all though, I have to say its good work. I like the composition and the idea that in the end you're reminded that the scene was really just the music box, and all the other instruments were imagined. Or at least that's the sense it gives me.

Well with the choir.. i made it this strgong because the choir is an important elemant in this scene of the music. Its the tip of the iceberg. =)

... Wow... I am really taken back by this track. It is amazingly beautiful. It's sound is amazing on a grand scale. It flows like poetry is meant to be spoken. Vivid imagery is unavoidable listening to this. This song is pure magic.

I'm watching youtube videos of things in slow motion to this music. It's endlessly entertaining for some reason...
Even that really ethereal part in the middle. It just made the dog drinking out of the pool of water seem mysterious and weightless. Very surreal.
The music box was was indeed a very clever way to start and end this little journey. Well done.
