Oh, definitely: but can even Dreadwing recover someone from Hell?
In truth, I myself once had an idea for bringing him back: the Obelisk was never a tool, but always a trap.
It always bugged me that it's not an obelisk, but a pyramid. So... there is a second part to it, an oblong, which fits to it, making an actual obelisk. The oblong being the 'key board' of sorts.
It was created by an ancient wizard, ages of ages ago, to trap (one of) his enemies, and he never dismantled it before he died. So every now and then, some sucker reads about it or finds out about it some other way and thinks "what a good idea!" before ultimately getting trapped inside it. So now there's (the spirits of) five or six people in there; there might even be one or two people who had intended to use it for good.
He does interest me, Brendan does. Is he a sociopath, or a product of his environment, or did he just have a breakdown like the guy in 'Falling down'? Was he actually pretty much normal before Ishtar was killed? And why did the two clans keep fighting when they lived a continent apart?
I always have to think of the fourth issue of the second mini, when they first met Jetta and Thabian. No offense, but they were simply monsters there. And even about the Serpent, or whatever his name was, Fred implied he started out just like G'Nolga: a traumatized child.

But he's pathetic. Brittany pwned him back when she was just a noob, relatively speaking. He's such a loser - so petty and small.
Also, vengeance? They didn't put him in that tomb of torture... that was Kyle, and he's dead.
He could conceivably blame Gothwrain for getting him in the shit in the first place, but he's dead too (and being abused by Dreadwing, whose death, when it comes, should be epic suck).
Brendan is a lousy villain.
