Its deffinatly pixel art. If i didn't think about where I was placing them it wouldn't have a somewhat blended effect. No tool other than the PS Pencil was used to make this, just because I didn't do the standard little checkerboard forms and stuff that makes it not pixel? Pixel art uses tons of colors, that's how you can create amazing effects... By your theory that means this isn't pixel art either. http://www.deviantart.com/art/Pixel.....rt-1-385158530
Brushes weren't used in their work or mine. Just because people actually take time to grab other colors to make nicer blends that means its not pixels when you're using pixels to make the varying shades...
"Pixel art is a form of digital art, created through the use of raster graphics software, where images are edited on the pixel level." That is what's been done in both of these immages. However its not the standard checkers and fade out. Really even mine at worst has too much AA which still wouldn't disqualify it from being pixel art because it was worked on at a pixel level, same for the other artist.

I'm here because it's my commission :/
I looked at the website, I saw the old pixel styles but there is no rules on how many colours you have to use. But what irks me most is that you are saying she's not thought about it and hand placed each pixel. How can you know what someone has done when you've not been there to see it being done? Like I said, I've watched her make pixel art before.
And no, I wouldn't look at a melon and tell you it's a potato.
There is just NO reason at all to be so damn rude over art.

You are aware, Fuzzball, that most pixel art, barring sprites consists of 16-bit or higher palette sets, right?
Which means that a pixel artist has at least 65,536 available colours to choose from, not the rather small 3,367 colour palette you claim to be the case.
In any case, Pixel art isn't defined by a range of colours. It's a stylization.
By the look of it, this uses a 16-bit Palette, meaning that it's "High Colour" Pixel Art.
