The gentle colors give a warm sense to the night. I love the way the stars and moon have a soft radiance to them. The coloring of the tree also aids in giving the scene a friendly look as opposed to what could be taken as a potentially scary one. (Nighttime often being associated with fear or unknown instead of warmth and wonder)
