This is a poem I wrote this year in May; I wrote it on a tour bus on our way home from California, and what inspired me was a tiny little road off to the side that just went on and on in another direction.
Whenever I see roads like that, I've always been tempted to drive on them, just to see where they lead; and so many of those roads lead to a person's private residence, but one so far removed from outside human contact, it feels like you've stepped into another world.
So, yeah, that's what was in my head at the time. -Is sorry for being longwinded-
