Pointless Villains
Okay, this is a rant.
The new Cinderella Disney film is coming out in 2015. May, I believe. And I've seen the trailer and I knew about this tid-bit beforehand, but um . . . IT'S STUPID.
Okay, the original film had a total of three villains, and they were all great. And not only are the stepfamily going to be bad guys, now the Grand Duke is too? I'm sorry, but that doesn't make a lick of sense. You don't need another villain! You have three already! A fourth is not needed--it's utterly pointless.
Look, I don't mind changing things around. I don't mind re-imaginations of original works, but why do something so damn pointless and unnecessary? The Grand Duke was fine as he was in the original, so why make him a Jafar? No, literally and I quote: "The Grand Duke in the live action movie will be similar to Jafar, as they are both advisers to the King who plan to usurp the throne and conspire against the heroes."

Okay, you know: I'll remain objective. Maybe the film will be good. The animation looks amazing, and maybe I'll like it. But I swear if the film sucks as badly as Maleficent, I will punch a baby in the face.

I do like Frozen, but I so agree with you. SO AGREE. I can't go anywhere without seeing something Frozen related. Frozen birthday crap, Frozen toys, Frozen clothing, Frozen bedding and towels, Frozen this, Frozen that, FROZEN ALL OVER THE GODDAMN PLACE.

Yep. Like I said: not the best thing they ever made. I will continue to say that for as long as I see Frozen all over the damn place. SIGH. I'll take Cinderella over Frozen any old day. Also, more terrible things to come: Disney is remaking The Jungle Book and Kaa is a lady.

What's with all the remakes lately? Ehhhh. But I do stand by my original statement: if the film(s) are done right, then I don't care who they cast as long as they're good in their respective role. I may eat my words: maybe the Duke will be a neat villain, maybe a female Kaa will be awesome (maybe she'll end up being good like the original book and act like a mother figure; that'd be interesting) These things don't matter in the end, and if one doesn't like the remake, just watch the original. The only reason I was upset with what happened with Duke was being that the producers may force him to be a bad guy and he just falls flat as a villain (maybe like him teaming up with the step-family or something). But whatever, I'll give all these films a try and then decide if I like them or not.
