I checked it out - I didn't find any attack, but turns out he's at some zoo and just found out the lion liked that. There's pictures (and a video) of his son doing it as well.
But... they are big cats, and we're flimsy little monkeys as far as they're concerned, so I wouldn't be surprised if attacks happened. I just hope no one ever gets the insane notion that they can walk up to a lion and try it. That'd be about as stupid as that dude that tried to hug a grizzly. >_<
