Hunters are small humanoid creatures with animalistic ears, tails, eyes, noses, and claws. The claws are usually "nubby" and are only useful for climbing trees and digging. Their ears and tail do not have to match a certain species of animal, and do not have to bear any resemblance to animal ears and tails at all.
They have evolved an odd method of survival called "Dowsing", where they sense the presence of a certain set of three things around them. They can only sense THREE things with their Dowsing ability, and the 3 things they can sense are referred to as their Dowsing Set.
The original Hunter species had only one Dowsing Set: the Survival Set, which dowses for water, food, and shelter. Since then, through outspecies breeding and inspecies mutations, the Hunters have evolved several other sets of Dowsing Sets. (If you have a suggestion, I'd love to hear it, I love free ideas :D)
Poky Hockears has the "Treasure" Dowsing Set, meaning he can dowse for treasure, hidden doors, and booby traps.
