so what does each type of reptile do? what distinguishes their differences?

admittely very little is concrete, but some things I did want to keep:

Elsians:
-Can live in colder environments thanks to fur/hair, but don't do too well with heat since they can't sweat.
-They lack special abilities like breathing fire, flying, or accelerated regeneration like the others. Essentially they're "normal".
-Technology-wise, they're the most advanced (haven't decided how far yet). This is also their primary export.
-They live in a more "modern" environment, mostly influenced by Nordic countries and some parts of Europe. Haven't fully decided yet.
-Their country, Elsia, is located in the southern Boreal and Frigid zones. It's the largest but least populated country. Mostly Elsians and a few Avelians, but no Dursians are permanent residents.
-Despite the name, it wasn't inspired by Elsa from Frozen.

Dursians:
-Currently the only ones with wings. They usually live in higher places like mountains, but there may be another type that lives in more arid places.
-Are pretty durable (!) compared to the other two. They have rougher skin and plated chests, and a very high heat tolerance. Usually seen as the best fighters.
-Because of their heat tolerance, they have a hard time warming up in colder places.
-Metals and Oil are their primary export. Oh and weapons too.
-Their country, Dursia, is settled somewhere along the equator. It's the smallest country but densely populated. Mostly Durisans, but you'll find a few Avelians and Elsians there.
-GOLD

Avelians:
-Has the best regeneration of the three (though folks like Decorii have them beat). They can eventually grow back lost limbs.
-Not nearly as much heat tolerance as Dursians, but can warm themselves up better. Essentially can live almost anywhere as long as its not too extreme.
-Usually have more pear or bean shaped bodies. Because cartoons.
-Food and Plant stuffs are their primary exports. (Angela herself is studying Botany. :V)
-Their country, Avelia, extends from the temperate zone into the tropics zone. It's the most populated country, with a decent amount of both Dursians and Elsians living with the native Avelians.

-They all live in the continent called "Lacertia" because reptiles 'n junk. I suppose that's also the title for whatever thing I decide to do with them.

Still got a lot more to do (like a plot for example), but I gotta start somewhere I guess. :P

ive been poking around at this thing for the past several years but i always end up trashing it and starting over. The only thing truly set it stone are the characters themselves, and even thing I haven't really got much in the way of backstory or whatnot (like Beldima becoming a ghost snake thingy because reasons). :V

Yoo, there's nothing wrong with taking your time and fleshing stuff out. I've been doing it for awhile too. You do what makes you happy. <3

All of that sounds neat. It sounds like you've thought a lot about these groups, so I think it's a good start.
